Our Story

Expressive Pathways was founded from a deep desire to provide high quality, family focused services in a smaller setting. Rather than focusing on increasing client case loads for our specialists, we maintain a stronger focus on the fundamental process and quality of care applied with each individual client.

The Expressive Pathways clinic was established to cultivate a safe and fun space to deliver intensive services to our youngest clients.

Expressive Pathways

2009

Philadelphia, PA - Hershey. PA

Ashleigh Shaffer, Executive Director and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, founded Expressive Pathways and began consulting with families in Philadelphia, PA before transitioning to the Hershey/Harrisburg area.

2017

Harrisburg, PA

In 2017, Ashleigh opened the doors to the Expressive Pathways clinic and expanded her team to include Clinical Director and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Cortney Helsel, and a team of Registered Behavior Technicians.

Now

Clinic Based

As a BCBA owned and operated company, Expressive Pathway's CEO, Ashleigh, is still active in the field and maintains a caseload. The Clinical Director, Cortney, continues to see clients in the field to both support staff and ensure that quality services are always being provided. Additionally, Expressive Pathway's Administrative Director, Kelly Kerr, holds first-hand experience in the field and offers regular support and understanding of operational needs. Kelly also serves as a fundamental resource to client families in navigating health insurance and funding sources for services.

All team members receive supervision and support, regardless of experience or expertise.

While the focus remains on maintaining a small practice in order to prioritize the delivery of quality services to the community, Expressive Pathway's clinic is expanding to include a sensory gym, as well as more space to continue collaborating with partnering Occupational and Speech & Language Therapists.
